Smetana’s score is rich and there is plenty to do for all. The dynamics are as in the original, somewhat overdone, and what you see as a dynamic change is often more an indication of phrasing so treat with caution.
Re-scored in February 2022 for a smaller ensemble : 1 Eb (with alternative Bb part provided), 4 Bbs, 1 Alto Clarinet (with alternative Bb part), 2 Basses and optional Contra Alto and Contra Bass, so the minimum requirements are 6 Bbs and 2 Basses.
