This Violin Sonata is in three movement, linked as one. Most of the material is based on the first three notes (CBE). Some of the themes were inspired by scenes from childhood. First movement is very ’classical’ if you like, but the second develops in style. The third, the longest and more complex of the three, brings all of the ideas together, and one will find it quoting the preceding two movements. Although the work might seem easy on the eye, it is however quite difficult, for both Violinst and Pianist.
