This Early American tune has been used for the hymns "How Tedious and Tasteless the Hours" and "We Speak of the Realms". I have used several techniques to achieve a hammered dulcimer sound. 1)una corda, which gives a more silvery sound, specified for certain sections, but may be used throughout, 2) strong accents, 3)a lot of sustain, which should be adjusted to the quality of your piano, and 4) preparatory 16th notes, as in measure 8, which I’ve sprinkled throughout. Enjoy!
