This is part of a series of small pieces of chamber music being written for home use. This is based on the famous Lincolnshire folk song Brigg Fair, as collected, (and recorded, the recording is still in the catalogue), by Percy Grainger from Joseph Taylor back in the 1900s.

Treble and tenor recoders make an attractive combination over the more usual two trebles. The Tenor recoder requires the low C-sharp but that can be fudged with an E if the recoder lacks the double hole. The speed is of course set by what you think the speed of the original song is. Dynamics are up to the performers. Recorders do not have a wide range of dynamics but what is possible depends quite a bit on the acoustics of the room as well as the recorders. Good luck with your own dynamics and expression…….
