The 1960`s - no, not Carnaby Street, and not a television script in sight for years to come, but a youth walk through the Langdale Valley, and up onto Great Langdale and Little Langdale in the English Lake District. One whole month of ’Outward Bound’, onto the hills and fells, culminating once ’acclimatised’, with the successful attempt up to the summit of Scafell Pike. Upon the return to the Lake District 40 years later, gear stick and clutch superceded boots and rucksack.

Band parts Grade 4 to 6 U.K. Soloists parts Grade 6 to 7.

This MP3 is the 1989 recording by The Williams-Fairey Engineering Band, on ’Tournament for Brass’, with Brian Taylor & Philip Clark as soloists`.
