You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. This song is a setting of a poem by Christina Rossetti in which the theme is a fllen woman, whose heart has been broken by a man. Rossetti lays stress on ideal love's distance from reality. There are varying images including planting and harvesting and mentions ripeness and over-ripeness but whether these are erotic, ethereal or just vague is open to debate. The fallen woman fails to fulfill her passion and often brings about the renunciation of love, always disappointing, and as with many of Rossetti's characters, renounces any belief in earthly ideals of love. All proceeds from any sales of this music will go to Angels Charity for Autism Support in Hertfordshire, U.K. Many thanks
