"Twelve O'clock's approaching" comes from Daniel Laubacher's school musical Ray and the Pirates of the lost Cove. It is sung by the mischievious pirates after the rude and cruel (but likeable) Pirate Governor has sentenced the friendly and innocent Longworth Family to be "shot at midnight" for having attempted to "steal" the two whales the pirates had captured. The music is bouncy and melodic with a challenging and fun opportunity for students to sing counterpoint. There is an optional instrument solo in the middle which could be played on any C instrument available.
