The forth in a set of twelve which Boyce wrote in the Italian style. They proved to be very popular at the time of publication in 1747. The slow march from this sonata was used at the funeral service for Boyce when he was buried at St.Pauls Cathedral, London.
As well as being excellent concert material, this transcription is helpful repertoir for players perhaps new to playing Eb Clarinet.
