This delightful piece was written as a six part vocalise and is pure Delius: melifluous and highly chromatic, romantic without being over sentimental. It is a piece which, in its choral version, has given many choirs (and audiences) much pleasure over the years; hopefully, this arrangement for a string ensemble (3 violins, viola, cello and double bass, either as a sextet or a string orchestra) will give equal enjoyment.
