Cork Youth Orchestra, the first Youth Orchestra on the island of Ireland, celebrated its 30th anniversry in 1988.I was a founder member in 1958, as was my brother, Kevin.The Three T's of the title refer to the three Tens (30),the three Townsends who were members in the first years of the C.Y.O., and to my own three sons who were members of C.Y.O.in the 1988/89 season when I wrote this light-hearted piece, which was played at the Anniversary Concert. The dotted quaver-semiquaver figure in the accompaniment suggests the 'Dooo-acka-doo,acka-doo,acka-doo' vocal accompaniment to many popular songs of the 50's.
