Tuning tunes are designed to facilitate group tuning and ear-training in a string orchestra setting. The first tune may be taught vocally as well as played on the piano. (Students will enjoy the play on words.) Tunes #2 and #3 may be played in the background to provide reference pitches in an interesting format while the teacher walks around the room to give assistance. Alternatively, while the music is played, students may use electronic tuners to see, while at the same time hear, when their strings are in tune.
