The title, fairly obviously, is a straightforward steal from the slightly more heavyweight four quartets of TS Eliot. I’ve also stolen TS’s idea of naming the individual pieces after some of the UK’s sillier place names. And with all due respect to the grand old man of early twentieth century poetry, I think my place names are even sillier than his. For what it’s worth, Edith Weston (yes, it’s a place, not a person) is a village in Rutland, Coombe Dingle is pretty much on the outer edge of Bristol, and Splott is a district of Cardiff.
