Three 19th Century pieces arranged for Manor College orchestra in Hartlepool for their twice yearly concerts. Scherzo by Anton Diabelli (1781-1858) an Austrian publisher and composer, Waltz by Hermann Berens (1826-1880) a German composer who lived his adult life mainly in Sweden and a Polka by Ernesto Becucci (1845-1905) an Italian composer who is best known for the light style and character of his piano works.
Instruments were for chosen for the available pupils at the time.
Violin I is duplicated in Viola I except in the second piece. Violin II duplicates Viola II and is easier.
Can be performed in small groups :-
Wind/Brass and Piano or
Strings and Piano or
Wind,Brass and Strings without Piano.
Piano part is for an advanced pupil or teacher and covers middle and lower parts. Glock and Timps are optional.
