This has always been one of my favorite of the pieces I wrote when I was in college.
The title comes from the figure in bar 11 that reminded me of the "National Geographic" theme, which itself was apparently inspired by the work of Aaron Copland.
The way the theme builds from bar 25 to the peak in bar 33 is one of the coolest things I have ever written, so I hope you like it.
