In 1984 I heard the Royal Marine Band and the Pipes & Drums of the Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders perform on their tour of the United States. Near the end of their performance the pipes joined the band playing "Auld Lang Syne". This was the inspiration for my composing this march. The piece is composed for bagpipes and band, and has been performed several times in the U.S. I presented a copy of the score to the Royal Marine Band in 2002.
