I'm a-testifyin' here on behalf of our Great Decider and his glorious administration. The lyrics are by the celebrated songwriter Davis Gloff.

If you purchase (or have purchased) this score, send me a message, and in return I'll send you a FREE (as in, you do not have to pay anything) MIDI file (playable on any computer) of the piano accompaniment, so that you can play along with it.

Cant find a piano player to learn the part? That's no longer a problem!

Mr. Gloff has kindly consented to bestow his permission to use the portion of the lyrics he wrote. Here, in its entirety, is his letter to SibeliusMusic:

Please consider this written permission For Keith Otis Edwards to use my lyrics in the song "GOsPel." I also grant Keith Otis Edwards the rights to ALL lyrics I have wriitten that appear in any of his songs, and at any time he chooses, for any reason he may choose, with or without informing me.

I also grant permission to use these lyrics to Keith Otis Edwards, his heirs and assigns for this song or any other song he may have written or may choose to write in the past or future for all time and in perpetuity, until suns shall rise and set no more.

I grant this fully and freely, of my own volition and being of sound mind.

Now leave him alone.

Davis Gloff.

Actually, I would be hard-pressed to recall which lines are by me and which are from Davis. The first two verses are mine, and so is the first verse of the bridge (the reference to Valerie Plame Wilson), but the second verse of the bridge is his, except that I changed the first word to "Rush" (reference to radio demagogue Rev. Limbaugh). The marvelous line "Status to be quoed," is his, but I put in the part "PBS to destroy" (reference to the Public Broadcasting System), and I remember looking up Karl Rove's middle initial, so that line was by me.

All together it was a fun collaborative effort.
