but playable by the international brass septet (2 Tpt-2FH-2Tbn-Tuba)with optional parts. The percussionis optional, too…
The Gate…is based on a true story:���� In early 1980s some of our young cattle (cows) got loose due to a malfunctioning electric fence, if I remember correctly.��we tried to drive them back to the cowbarn with my father and kid brother. The chase continued to the nearby forest��where the drunken neighbors had a laugh (the house next to ours is a kinda summer cottage). My mother ��complained bitterly. All ended well, though. "The Gate is open" is a romanticed version of what happened.��We did not have time to play the "shepherds horn". The fences broke down every now and then and the cattle��were having a great time in the neighbors rye field, of all places.
