In early 1980�s some of our young cattle (cows) got loose due to a malfunctioning electric fence, if I remember correctly.
we tried to drive them back to the cowbarn with my father and kid brother. The chase continued to the nearby forest
where the drunken neighbors had a laugh (the house next to ours is a kinda summer cottage). My mother
complained bitterly. All ended well, though. "The Gate is open" is a romanticed version of what happened.
We did not have time to play the "shepherd�s horn". The fences broke down every now and then and the cattle
were having a great time in the neighbor�s rye field, of all places.
