The Fourth Wisconsin Infantry March - for Band. The Louis Altman Band, dressed in snappy uniforms, was a popular musical attraction at many social gatherings in the Chippewa Valley in the early 1900s. During World War I, the band joined the U.S. Army as a unit and was organized as the Fourth Wisconsin Infantry Band of the 32nd Division. The band’s duty was to give concerts to the various units stationed in France and to entertain the sick and wounded soldiers. The band was the first unit to come home to Chippewa Falls after Armistice.
