The Elements is a four-movement percussion suite which depicts the four classical elements: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. Movement one, fire, features interesting effects in the front ensemble and is driven by a tom-tom groove based off a game I once played (Stalkr from the game Hexen, with music by Kevin Schilder).

The show was written for the 2009 Kapolei High School winterline. As with Dance of the Storms, I composed the front ensemble parts and came up with the concept of the show and my friend Frederick Mariano wrote the battery (drumline). The result was another rewarding experience for Fred and I as future educators and for the students.
