The music is supposed to resemble the churches in Florence, almost like a chorale. Slight feelings of sadness and optimism are embed in some parts. While this piece is slow, it is still meant to be played firmly and with vigor when it is loud, and delicately when it is soft. With this said, enjoy this movement." - That is what I wrote in the program note in the score.
