These three light-hearted short pieces for clarinet and string quartet evoke the genteel atmosphere of a tea room in the first half of the 20th century. The dedicatees have enjoyed playing these pieces, one of which was given a public performance (by a different group) within weeks of completion, to a very warm reception. Play the pieces for fun, or as a pleasant backdrop to social occasions, or as a concert item.
Overall, the pieces should be largely sight-readable by players of Grade 6 level, or with practice by less experienced musicians, but the main theme of the third piece is a little tricky, so the mp3 (synthesised) may help.
