Level : Medium - Grades II & III
Arrangement & fingerings : Paul Gil
For Solo Flute - 4 pages
Originally composed for guitar in 1888, the “Caprice Arabe” is one of Francisco Tárrega’s most famous works representing a cultural mix inspired by Valencia. The work is dedicated to Tomas Breton, an influential Spanish musician of the late 19th century, and was first published in 1889.
This version for solo Flute, arranged by concert flautist & arranger Paul Gil, retains all the richness of polyphony for guitar using numerous ornaments and appoggiaturas and offers to the Flute repertoire one of the greatest pages of 19th century Spanish music.
