Literal translation (AJ):

1. As long as I’ll live in flourishing age, I will serve Love, the mighty god, In words and deeds, in songs and chords. Several times, he kept me languishing, But after mourn made me rejoicing, As I have the love of the lass in pleasing body.

Her alliance Is my faith, Her heart is mine, My heart is hers, Fie of sadness Long life to joy, For in love there is so much good.

2. When I want to serve and honour her, When by writing I want to embellish her name, When I see her and visit her often, The envious ones keep murmuring But our love would not last any less As much or more comes and goes with the wind.

Despite envy, All my life I will love her And will sing: She is the first, She is the last I have served and will serve.
