This Symphony is subtitled "The What Ho Symphony" The first movement derives from a piece I wrote for St Paul’s Girls School to accompany Haydn’s Farewell Symphony (No 45), except that in my movement all the players come on stage section by section, starting with the 2 violins that remain at the end of Haydn’s Symphony.
