My 38th Symphony is in 8 movements. I subtitle it "The Octopus" because it's 8 movements are controlled by an octotonic 8 note theme which dominates the third movement, and the keys of the eight movements follow the notes of the theme. The first movement is entitled "Kaleidoscope of morphing ideas". When you drift into sleep, particularly during the day, you often get unconnected images merging into each other in a random way as you fall asleep. This movement seeks to do just that. It has no discernible form. It’s also very silly!
