On a vacation in San Miguel de Allende, an American tourist saw me working on the score and suggested that I should send it to Andre Previn who at that time was in Houston, Texas. Unfortunately, I did not heed his advice, because I thought that the symphony wouldnt really catch on, because of its classical orientation. Those were times when I tried to imitate and emulate my friends Johann Sebastian, Ludwig and Piotr Ilitch, but the outcome was always something that sounded more like Michael (as those stated who saw my scores). The symphony underwent several reincarnations (the very first version, by the way, got lost), but in the end it was this one (the second) that I found worthy to be worked into Sibelius.
