I have been very ill in hospital for six weeks after a burst colon, followed by a 7 hour operation which was very risky with no certainty of success. I will still need several months to recover and a blood clot which has swollen my left leg to double its normal size isn't helping. I very nearly died and only my pleading to the surgeons that I needed to finish this symphony persuaded them to operate. I have now finished the work, and have titled the finale "Lament". A lament for all those months of lost time, and frequently great pain.
