Composed in 2005 from the thematic material sketched down in 1965, it starts out in the manner of a French overture and reminisces about the foregoing movements, ending not with the thematic re-exposition as required by classical form but with a slight variation of the slow introduction to the first movement. So, the work has gone full circle. Its duration of twelve minutes is quite long, but somehow this score does not play back certain sections at their correct speed despite the right metronome marks.
Summing up the duration of all the movements:
First 12 minutes Second 9 minutes Third 5 minutes Fourth 12 minutes Total 39 minutes
Thirty-nine minutes may be probably too much of an acoustic pleasure to be let loose on society, and so I would have to shorten some sections.
