This is the first finished movement of a symphony I'm writing in C minor. I'd describe it as a turbulent, stormy scherzo in C minor surrounding a more relaxed and rustic C major trio.
Like most of the music I compose, this movement's style emulates the late Classical period. In keeping with an authentic sound the orchestra is identical to would've been found in the early 1800's, including valveless horns and trumpets.
