This arrangment was premiered by the church orchestra at the Boston Avenue Methodist Church in April of 2006. It was written to be beautiful and expressive. Our rehearsal time is severely limited and this was a major consideration for this piece. It helps to have good flute and oboe soloists and a horn section that can lay into the counter melody in the pedal point section. The bells/glock part is entirely optional. The length of the piece reflects the fact that it was to be an orchestra anthem or offertory. The associated midi file was mixed using the Roland VSC synth that comes with Band in a Box. I suggest using this synth for playback if you have it.
