The Suite is for six handbell ringers, using 2 octaves of bells with optional auxiliary percussion.
This finale depicts the Vikings sailing quietly from Caithness to the Orkney Islands, and the middle section makes use of a chant which was found in the archives of St Magnus Cathedral. The final section (with optional cymbal crash) depicts a battle, and the last chord should be carefully dampened as instructed in order to bring harmony to the chaos.
