You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.Day Music is the second piece in my Suite for Piano. It is the companion piece to #4, Night Music. This piece was largely composed using polyrhythms, i.e. 8 beats in one voice and 5 in another. While each voice is rather static on its own, the combination of the two produces a shifting rhythm pattern. I wanted to get a feeling of daytime energy here, with a certain biorhythmic feel of varying energy levels leading to a final winding down. Please note that the crosses mark the beginning of a new cycle, and that the phrasing isn’t meant to be taken literally, but is there only to show the subdivisions of the rhythm. This should be played fairly straight in the meter signature given, and the effect will be automatic. Please listen to the mp3.
