This is the first of a series of chord studies I started working on in January, 2005. I began this series of studies as solo piano works, with a strict focus on "study". The aim was to hear the "quality" of the chord from listening to each piece. I gradually found myself orchestrating the pieces, and giving them a true aesthetic feel - ie. they are no longer just studies.
As of Sunday, July 23rd, 2006, this particular piece has been updated to the orchestral version. The new version only contains the completed first section. The orchestral version draws thematically from the original solo piano version.
