This was written by Torstein O. Kvamme in 1933. He was the band director at Stoughton High School, as well as a history teacher. This song was sung and played prior to 1970, and was then lost in the band files. When taking over the band position at the high school in 1994, I found this song sketched by hand. I arranged it for marching band, with the permission of the family. Torstein actually died in the 1970s. He published many songbooks, including the most popular (still to this date) Christmas song book. This song is now performed at every pep rally, home football game, and even some concerts, as well as sung by the men’s choir at the high school. We honor "Tut" Kvamme and his legacy, as well as SHS school spirit.
