You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.As the title indicates, Sonatina for Horn and Piano closely follows traditional sonata form on a somewhat smaller scale, with a home key of G minor. The three movements are:
1. Allegro molto - a short, but fairly strict sonata-allegro in G minor 2. Andante tranquillo - a lyrical theme and variations in F major 3. Allegro moderato - an abridged sonata-rondo in G minor
This composition is thematically very unified, with various thematic connections scattered throughout the three movements, the most obvious one being the first measure of the rondo theme, which is a tonal inversion of the opening six notes of the horn call that begins the sonatina (and yes, the subtle nod to Siegfried in that motif is deliberate).
