Here is the infamous Sonatina that EVERY piano student has played transcribed for String Quartet.
In order to keep the quartet happy, most of the harmony that is implied in the origianl are fleshed out amongst the strings. Other changes include:
1st movement: the Arp. in the left hand have been changed to a Vivaldi style repeated eigth-notes
2nd movement: Melody is moved to the ’cello and the constant triplets have been broken up or just played by one of the strings.
3rd movement: 1st and 2nd Violin "duel" on the melody not-unlike a mini double concerto
