"Solvejg's Song" comes from the incidental music written by Edward Grieg for Henrik Ibsen's play "Peer Gynt". Solvejg is a girl who Peer Gynt abandoned and this lament is her grief and hopes that one day he will return. In this arrangement I have modified the bass line giving it a Slow Beat feel; and the 34 section has been given to a Jazz Waltz. I have written a jazz ad lib at the end and is my interpretation of Peer Gynt sort of 'cocking a snook'.
