This was my first composition for guitar. I wrote this piece originally in 1998 and then spent a couple of years revising it. My goal was to illustrate the different feelings people go through when they are all alone. Peace and loneliness are the two main moods of the composition. Some measures have 3 voices so it can be difficult to balance the tone when playing this piece. The second movement is contrapuntal. Bars 31 and 32 are difficult to read. Here a bass melody on the 5th string is played under a second inversion G major triad. The voices are crammed in bar 31 and it is difficult to see the open D whole note that is played against the 5th string fretted D. Just make sure to play the second inversion G major triad as an open chord using the open second, third, and fourth strings. Lots of room for interpretation too so have fun.
