"Silent Night" is one of the all-time favourite Christmas carols. Verse 1 of this arrangement uses unison voices with a flute counter-melody. The second verse is scored for SATB, while the third verse features unison voices with descants from sopranos and flute. A version with piano accompaniment is available on this website. Joseph Mohr's words are here translated by John Freeman Young ("Silent Night, Holy Night, All is calm, all is bright"). A setting using the translation by Stopford Brooke ("Silent Night, Holy Night, Sleeps the world, hid from sight") is available on this website - see "Related scores".
