Two gloriously infectious movements from Mendelssohn`s `A Midsummer Night`s Dream` arranged for Clarinet Choir. Recorded by the University of Florida Clarinet Choir 2009. Included also is `Eine Tanz von Rupeln` (Dance of the Clowns). Just pure joy to perform.

Scherzo: Mendelssohn anticipates the fairies at the start of Act 2 in `A wood near Athens`. As the Scherzo ends, the curtain rises:-

PUCK: How now, spirit! Whither wander you?

FAIRY: Over hill, over dale, Thorough bush, thorough brier, Over park, over pale, Thorough flood, thorough fire, I do wander everywhere, Swifter than the moon`s sphere; And I serve the fairy queen, To dew her orbs upon the green . . . .

Rupel-Tanz: (Clown Dance) After being asked by Bottom to see the epilogue or to hear a Bergomask dance, Thesius chooses to `hear` the Bergomask, which is based on the mechanicals theme from the overture, which Mendelssohn had written 16 years earlier.
