This Sarabande has been composed for the practical use of all kind of seventh chords (dominant and non-dominant).
The melody played by the violins may be harmonized for strings (Violins I-II, Violas, Cellos & Continuo) or a small orchestra featuring Flute (doubling Violins I at the upper octava), Oboe (doubling Violins II "loco"), Bassoon (same line as Cellos), Basset Horn in F (doubling Violas) and Bb Trumpet ad libitum.
