Samba de Bebop is an attempt to fuse the complexity of a bebop melody with the rhythm and feel of a latin jazz song. I was quite pleased with the overall effect! The score follows a pretty simple form of intro, head, solo 1, solo 2, break, bridge, and a final head.
The chord sequence is more or less repeated throughout except for the bridge which contains a slight modulation. The sequence is very common for the bebop style, and I’m sure the allusion to Donna Lee in the trumpet solo will not go unnoticed by you jazz lovers!
