This violin romance is my first completed orchestral work. I started it probably as far back as 1999 and have been working on it on and off for the last five years.

Like all of my compositions, it is my attempt at composing in the late Classical style of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven (I'll readily admit Beethoven's violin romances were my model for this piece). And in keeping with the style, and to produce a sound consistent with the period, I've limited the piece to a typical Classical period orchestra, including the use of natural (valveless) horns and trumpets.

The piece is in a loose ABACA rondo form with a recurring A theme in F major surrounding episodes in C major and D minor, followed by a coda that makes a couple of key excursions before returning to the introductory theme which started the piece and back to the home key of F.

I find the Scorch playback for this piece to be a bit lacking, so if you have the bandwidth, please listen to the mp3 recording of my MIDI rendition of the piece. Hope you enjoy it.
