This piece adapted for brass, tells the story of the birth of a river as it gathers its droplets, which turn into streamlets and then streams, joining forces to eventually create a powerful river which, eventually, runs through the city of Cork.
The theme builds from droplet sounds into a full production of sound, describing the majesty and glory of the power of water as it gathers at the entrance to the city.
The wind intruments provide the sense of light water movement, while the brass section gives the sense of depth and power of water. This piece is waiting to be played. Expression marks and player parts can easily be changed to suit a particular brass band.
