This is such a great psalm. As a musician, can’t you totally relate to the feelings of the psalmist? You’re being held captive, but they let you keep your instrument. Then they ask you to sing the joyful songs of your homeland. And yet, even without his music, the psalmist keeps his heart fixed on the Lord and the homeland he so desires to return to.
So I tried to capture the fervence (if that’s a word) of this intense portion of scripture. Hope I did!
God bless. Oh and by the way, please pray for DeSales and I, we just found out she’s pregnant with number 7. Unplanned? Yes. NFP work? Yes, and sometimes it works against your human reasoning to allow the Lord’s will to be done and bring forth a new son or daughter of the Lord. Reality show forthcoming…just kidding, it would be entertaining though, I can guarantee that!
2012 Update: Number 7 is now 2 years old! His name is Peter Jude. And please keep praying for us - Peter was just diagnosed with autism. So intense therapy is beginning, which is a strain, but according to the doctors, very necessary. Thanks and God bless…
