This one can be arranged vocally one of four ways. If it's just you solo, you can nod the people in phrase by phrase, or you could wait until the entire response is sung then bring them in on the repeat. If you have enough in an ensemble, schola or choir, you can divide into two groups, the first sing the first phrase, then the second brings in the congregation call/response style. Or everyone can sing the Cantor/Group 1 part, let the "response" part of the call/response be instrumental, then just bring in the people on the repeat of the phrase.
I like the message of this psalm. It's almost as if the psalmist is telling us that we can miss the "saving power of God," if we're not at least trying to be "upright." It's not a given. We can't just la-la our way through life, say we're Christians and expect to see God reveal His perfect will for our lives, according to St. David. "To the UPRIGHT I will show the saving power of God." I say show it to me, Lord! I WILL try to live an upright life!
