I was particularly inspired by the melody of Joplin's 'Sunflower Rag' and the harmony of 'Pineapple Rag'. Unlike the structure that is used in the majority of Joplin's rags (Ax2, Bx2, A, Cx2, Dx2), I have opted for more of a rondo form (Ax2, Bx2, A, Cx2, A) as I felt this would better suit the melodies.
