I wrote this piece in 1995, when I was 12 years old (I bet that makes some people feel rather old!) It was an immediate instinct of mine when I stumbled upon this piece again not very long ago to try and create a fuller accompaniment with my improved knowledge of composition. I refrained from doing so, however, because I love the simplicity of the piece, and it felt wrong to tamper with it (or perhaps corrupt it) with what I have learnt since then. I agree it is not the best composition in the world, but there's something special, and unspoilt about it.
Claire is my sister, who wrote the lyrics. She was 15 at the time.
