Psalm 130, "Out of the Depths" is a setting of this emotionally charged psalm of pain and longing. The text is adapted from various translations and is suitable for funerals, the fifth Sunday of Lent and other occasions where a jazzy/bluesy version of this text seems appropriate. Although the musical style is secular in origin, it has at this point made a clear crossing over into the realm of music that people gladly pray with.
